Veterinarian & Co-Founder
Dr. Matthew Greimel has proudly cared for the pets and families of northern Michigan since co-founding Bayshore Animal Hospital with his wife, Dr. Julie Saarm-Greimel, in 2000. One of the most rewarding parts of his career has been building lasting relationships with generations of clients and helping their pets enjoy long, healthy lives.
Originally from Shelby Township, Michigan, Dr. Matthew graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. After a brief time practicing in Grand Rapids, he and Dr. Julie followed their dream of moving north and creating a practice centered on compassionate, personalized veterinary care.
Dr. Matthew values working alongside the talented Bayshore Animal Hospital team and appreciates that every day brings the opportunity to strengthen the bond between pets and the people who love them. He is grateful for the trust clients place in the hospital and considers it a privilege to care for their animals throughout every stage of life.
When he’s away from the clinic, Dr. Matthew enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring northern Michigan, and making memories with family and friends.
