Thank YOU for being part of the BAH family

Every day we look forward to seeing our patients and catching up with you, whether it’s about your families, personal interests, or community events and news. Practicing veterinary medicine continues to be rewarding because not only are we allowed to care for your furry or feathery family members, but we are able to connect over our shared human-animal bond experience. Thank you for trusting us to provide exceptional, compassionate healthcare for your cherished pets!

Dr. Julie Saarm-Greimel and Dr. Matthew Greimel

Veterinarians

Dr. Matthew and Dr. Julie met in 1993 while attending Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1997, they both worked as Associate Veterinarians in Grand Rapids before moving to Northern Michigan and opening Bayshore Animal Hospital in 2000. Together they have focused on providing the most up-to-date care for their patients, as well as focusing on animal welfare while working hand-in-hand with our local Humane Society. When away from the hospital they enjoy spending time with their grown children Hailey and Raymond, as well as spending time at their family cottage boating and fishing with family and friends.

staff
Tonya

Office Manager/Veterinary Assistant

Tonya joined Dr. Matthew and Dr. Julie when they opened Bayshore Animal Hospital in 2000. She brought ten years of experience with her and has been the backbone of the hospital since she got here. Between overseeing all office duties, assisting with veterinary care, and taking care of our client’s needs on the phone and when they come in, it’s safe to say Tonya does it all! When Tonya isn’t here greeting every client and patient as they come in, she enjoys visiting her grown children, Trent and Kalyn, with her husband, Kirk. She also enjoys spending time with friends and traveling.
